    Key Responsibilities

    The Beverage Captain will be successful when:

    • The Department at Hudson's private events are flawlessly executed, with high-quality libations and service throughout the event season.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    DAILY OPERATIONS

    • Lead bar set-up to ensure it is executed in a timely manner
    • Own product prep in advanced
    • Review and understand BEOs
    • Assisting with monthly inventory and consumption bar sheets
    • Monitor staffing levels
    • Lead by example for all bartenders in punctuality, appearance and work quality; including training
    • Participate in pre-shift meetings alongside event managers
    • Check proper amount of bar products and glassware are pulled per event
    • Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests while anticipating their needs
    • Demonstrate expert knowledge of specialty, classic and signature cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings
    • Maintain fluency in all menu items and ingredients with the ability to suggest beverage pairings
    • Monitor proper steps of service with the team throughout each event
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and prep areas; putting away product
    • Can communicate effectively with staff members and management during service
    • Report incidents and areas of opportunity to management
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
    • Support special activations throughout other Hudson related outlets

    FINANCIAL IMPACT

    • Be a catalyst for continuous improvement
    • Monitor overpouring, waste and proper handling of bar products and glassware

    Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

    • Must have five years of bartending experience, knowledge of techniques and equipment for serving, storing, and handling food and beverage products
    • Leadership experienced recommended
    • Efficient in describing and serving different types of liquor, cocktails, beer, and wine
    • Preferred TIPS Certification or can pass TIPS Class to become certified
