Job Description: BESS Commissioning Engineer. Renewable Energy Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $90,000 to $130,000 (DOE) + annual performance bonus Travel: Up to 100% across US project locations Job Type: Full-time, permanent We are working with a leading electrical contractor seeking a BESS Commissioning Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage and substation projects across the US. The role: Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across project sites Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and test procedures Support the commissioning of PV, BESS, substations, SCADA and power conversion systems Work closely with project teams, utilities, engineers, OEMs and subcontractors Monitor project schedules, documentation and regulatory compliance Investigate technical issues and support root cause analysis Requirements: BA or BS degree required Electrical Engineering background Commissioning Background Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills Willingness to travel extensively across the US PV, battery storage or electrical contracting experience Knowledge of P6, SCADA, IEC or IEEE
