As our Bespoke Furniture Logistics & Crating Supervisor, you’ll own the last mile inside the shop: turning flawless builds into flawless deliveries.
What a Day Looks Like
You begin by reviewing ship dates and priorities, then move into hands-on work: inspecting finished pieces, completing final assembly touches, cleaning and photographing every component, and planning how each item will be protected for its route. You’ll coordinate with Production, confirm crate sizing and materials with the Crate Builder, and verify documentation—dimensions, weights, labels, carriers, and tracking. When carriers arrive, you’ll stage, load, and hand off shipments safely and confidently.
Throughout the day, you coach helpers, build checklists, and turn today’s lessons into tomorrow’s standards. If a customer deadline, product quality, or shipment safety is on the line, you jump in and lead from the front.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform meticulous final assembly and inspection before anything leaves the shop.
- Clean, photograph, and document every component; disassemble as needed for safe transport.
- Wrap, cushion, label, and pack pieces to ensure they arrive exactly as intended.
- Stage and load crates; coordinate parcel, LTL, and other carrier pickups with accurate paperwork.
- Confirm all shipment details: components, destinations, dimensions, weight, carrier/service, labels, documents, and tracking records.
- Align daily Shipping priorities and handoffs with Production and other teams; escalate risks early.
- Partner with the Crate Builder on sizing, materials, structural protection, and timing.
- Plan for oversize items, special handling, missing info, and delivery/installation nuances.
- Train, coach, and set clear expectations for helpers and new team members.
- Keep shipping, staging, crate-material, and loading areas safe, organized, and ready.
- Investigate damage, packing failures, missed handoffs, or delays and translate findings into improved standards and training.
- Develop practical processes, checklists, documentation, tools, material plans, and staffing capacity for a growing department.
What We Value

- Credible background leading, mentoring, or coordinating others (formal management not required).
- A track record of owning work through completion with initiative, accountability, and practical problem-solving.
- Attention to detail—product condition, component accuracy, labels, photos, and records matter.
- Ability to juggle priorities, schedules, handoffs, and documentation while staying productive on the floor.
- Clear communication and the judgment to surface risks and next steps early.
- Safe, confident use of common hand and power tools and material-handling equipment.
- Full-time, on-site availability in Fargo, North Dakota.
Preferred Experience
- Protecting, packing, crating, or shipping custom furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, architectural products, or other large, appearance-critical goods.
- Working with parcel and LTL freight carriers, pickup scheduling, bills of lading, labels, tracking, claims documentation, or shipping software.
- Rough-carpentry or crate-building: measuring, cut lists, and structural protection know-how.
- Final assembly, quality inspection, photo documentation, pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar lifting equipment.
- Creating checklists, work standards, training materials, layout improvements, or practical process changes.
- Ambition to grow into broader Shipping leadership as the team expands.

Physical Demands & Safety
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- On your feet most of the shift with regular bending, reaching, kneeling, wrapping, and handling of large components.
- Lift and carry up to 75 lbs on your own; team-lift or use equipment for heavier furniture and crates.
- Work safely in an active shop—dust, noise, material-handling equipment, and seasonal temperature changes.
- Use required PPE and safely operate hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, and approved material-handling equipment.
