    We are seeking a Benefits Service Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Boone, North Carolina. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan''s Purse are to help people in Jesus'' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    In the role of Benefits Service Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.

    • Serve as the main liaison between staff and benefit vendors; resolving enrollment changes, claims disputes, and eligibility issues, while providing timely and compassionate support to staff and managers.

    • Administer leave policies such as FMLA, paid time off, and state-mandated programs with strict attention to compliance, accurate documentation, and timely communication to staff and managers.

    • Maintain detailed records, resolve discrepancies promptly, and assist with policy compliance, audits, and improvement initiatives.

    • Other duties as assigned

    What are the qualifications?

    As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

    • Knowledge of employee benefits administration, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave of absence programs, and applicable federal and state regulations such as FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.

    • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively support employees, managers, vendors, and HR partners while handling sensitive and confidential information.

    • Ability to interpret and apply benefit plan provisions, company policies, and regulatory requirements to resolve employee inquiries and administer benefits and leave programs accurately.

    • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain detailed records, meet deadlines, and effectively administer a high volume of transactions and cases.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, identify discrepancies, evaluate documentation, and recommend appropriate solutions.

    • Proficiency in HRIS, benefits administration systems, case management tools, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, exercising sound judgment and escalating complex issues when appropriate.

    • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, processes, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service excellence.
