    Description

At Fusion Recruiters, we partner with incredible organizations that are doing meaningful work — and this opportunity is no exception. We’re excited to support a long-standing, family-owned manufacturer with more than 125 years of history, a strong commitment to quality and innovation, and a culture built around respect, empowerment, and developing its people in their search for a hands-on Benefits Manager to join their onsite team in Sheboygan Falls, WI.

As the Benefits Manager, you’ll play a key role in owning and continuously improving the company’s full benefits portfolio, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs. You’ll report to the HR Director and work closely with Payroll, Finance, Plant Leadership, and third-party administrators while serving as the internal subject-matter expert for benefits. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of the function, influence employee experience, manage costs, and ensure programs remain compliant, competitive, and financially sustainable.

This is a chance to bring your benefits expertise to a company that values long-term thinking, innovation, collaboration, employee development, and accountability, where your contributions can have a visible impact on both employees and the organization.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Own the full benefits portfolio and ensure plans, costs, communications, and employee support remain effective and competitive.
    • Manage carriers, vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators, including renewals, proposals, negotiations, and service improvements.
    • Lead open enrollment, benefits communications, employee education, and complex benefits questions and escalations.
    • Maintain compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, Wisconsin requirements, and other applicable regulations while managing audits, filings, plan documentation, and deadlines.
    • Partner with Finance and Operations to evaluate benefits costs, utilization, plan design, and total-rewards scenarios that support hiring and retention.
    • Identify opportunities to improve benefits processes, self-service capabilities, HRIS utilization, and the overall employee experience.
    • Develop or enhance wellness and financial-wellbeing initiatives that support employee engagement and the company's broader Total Rewards strategy.

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of progressive benefits experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment supporting 500+ employees.
    • Strong hands-on experience with complex benefits programs, including self-funded plans, hourly and salaried populations, union employees, retirement programs, and retiree benefits.
    • Deep working knowledge of benefits compliance, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, Form 5500, plan documentation, audits, and required regulatory notices.
    • Experience managing carriers, brokers, vendors, and TPAs, along with strong HRIS/benefits platform and Excel skills; UKG experience is preferred.
    • Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex benefits information into clear and practical employee communications.
    • A hands-on, self-directed approach with the curiosity and initiative to learn an established benefits environment, identify opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of the function.

    Why You’ll Love Working Here:

Our client offers a stable, family-owned environment where long-term thinking, quality, innovation, and employee development are central to the culture. Employees are empowered to make decisions, think differently, solve problems, and contribute to the company's continued growth. The organization also emphasizes close employee relationships, mutual respect, and accountability, with a workplace known for extraordinarily low turnover.

    Highlights include:

    • Competitive pay, retirement plans, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits, along with wellness initiatives and a near-site wellness clinic offering services such as physical therapy and dietician support.
    • A family-owned organization with more than 125 years of history and a long-term focus on investing in its people, processes, facilities, and communities.
    • A culture that emphasizes employee empowerment, professional development, innovation, and continuous improvement, with employees encouraged to think differently and add value.
    • The opportunity to take ownership of an important HR function and make visible improvements to benefits programs, processes, communications, and the employee experience.
