About the role
The Benefits Manager is responsible for the end-to-end strategic design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs across the United States and Canada. The role will partner with People, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to deliver high-quality benefits programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive employee engagement and understanding of total rewards.
Base salary range is $120,000 - $160,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Responsibilities
- Own the development and continuous improvement of benefits programs, including health and welfare, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and perks.
- Lead key benefit initiatives such as open enrollment, implementation of new programs, system configuration, employee communication and education, and supporting broader initiatives as needed.
- Manage vendor relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, carriers, and third-party administrators ensuring delivery aligns with expectations and issues are escalated and resolved.
- Act as a strategic advisor to employees by delivering clear guidance on benefits programs, leaves, eligibility requirements, and policy interpretation while ensuring a seamless high-quality employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. regulations including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA/CFRA, Section 125, and state-specific requirements.
- Evaluate utilization of benefits programs, analyze market trends and benchmark data, ensuring that our offerings are competitive.
- Partner with Finance to develop and manage benefits budgets, forecasts, cost modeling, and vendor payment coordination.
- Oversee benefits M&A integration and due diligence activities, including harmonization of health, welfare, and retirement programs, assessment of legacy plans, and alignment with total rewards strategy.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive benefits experience, total rewards, or human resources ideally in a high-growth environment.
- Education: BA/BSc. in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or other related fields preferred.
- Outstanding analytical and project management capabilities, focus on continuous improvement, with a solution oriented approach.
- Deep knowledge of US benefitscompliance to drive programs at scale.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international benefits programs and compliance.
- Experience supporting benefits implementations in new markets.
- Experience partnering with EOR and international payroll providers.
