    Benefits Coordinator

    Department: Human Resources
    Location: Omaha, NE
    Reports To: Human Resources Manager

    Position Summary

    The Benefits Coordinator provides support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by responding to employee inquiries related to benefits, leave administration, and employee development programs. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate benefit enrollments, coordinating leave processes, resolving benefit-related issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The Benefits Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees by delivering exceptional customer service and facilitating participation in the Better Futures Program to support educational and career advancement opportunities.

     

    Qualifications

    • Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to remain professional, calm, and effective in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
    • Results-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Experience with SAP, Kronos/UKG, or other HRIS systems preferred.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
    • Flexibility to work varying schedules as business needs require:
      • Standard schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
      • Classes Enrollment Education periods: 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (twice annually)
      • Annual Benefits Enrollment support: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for one week each year.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing guidance and support regarding:
      • Vacation and paid time off
      • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
      • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
      • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
      • 401(k), Pension, and Retirement Programs
      • Other company-sponsored benefit plans
    • Administer and coordinate FMLA processes, including eligibility determinations, leave tracking, documentation management, employee communication, and regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct employee presentations and informational sessions regarding benefit programs, leave policies, and enrollment opportunities.
    • Explain benefit plans, coverage options, eligibility requirements, and claims processes to employees and their dependents.
    • Coordinate the administration of employee benefit programs, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of enrollments, changes, and terminations.
    • Partner with employees, managers, and third-party vendors to resolve benefit-related concerns and claims issues.
    • Assist in developing and distributing benefit communications, employee guides, and educational materials.
    • Support and coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee education, system updates, and enrollment support.
    • Research, analyze, and compile benefit-related data, reports, and trends to support decision-making and compliance efforts.
    • Coordinate and promote the Better Futures Program, assisting employees with educational opportunities and program participation.
    • Provide in-person customer service to production employees in both English and Spanish.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, medical, and organizational information.
    • Professionally manage incoming calls, route inquiries, and ensure timely follow-up.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
