A well-established regional law firm with more than 120 attorneys is seeking a Benefits & ERISA Attorney to join its growing employee benefits practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney who wants to build a diverse benefits practice with meaningful responsibility, immediate client contact, and long-term growth potential within a collaborative regional platform.
The Practice
The attorney will advise employers, plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and other clients on a broad range of employee benefits and ERISA matters, including:
Design and implementation of retirement and employee benefit plans
ERISA compliance
Tax-qualified retirement plans
Fiduciary responsibilities under ERISA
Benefits-related tax issues
Plan amendments and administration
Employee benefits counseling
Regulatory compliance
Advising clients on plan governance and fiduciary best practices
Supporting clients on benefits issues arising in corporate transactions
Working directly with clients on day-to-day benefits matters

Compensation will depend on seniority, relevant ERISA and benefits experience, credentials, and overall fit.

Job Details
Ideal Background
2–4 years of substantive employee benefits / ERISA experience
Experience with the design, implementation, and administration of retirement and benefit plans
Strong understanding of the tax and fiduciary aspects of ERISA
Experience practicing in a midsize or large law firm environment
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Excellent academic credentials
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building long-term client relationships
J.D. from an accredited law school
Pennsylvania Bar admission or ability to become admitted
