Benefits Coordinator (Temporary) (San Francisco, CA)
LHH is partnering with a well-established organization in San Francisco, CA, in search of an experienced Benefits Coordinator to support benefits administration, open enrollment activities, reporting, and HR systems-related projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a benefits professional who enjoys both administrative and reporting-focused work. The organization is seeking someone who can provide hands-on support during a busy period while helping maintain a positive employee experience. The role offers exposure to benefits operations, open enrollment preparation, documentation management, and special projects within a collaborative team environment. This assignment is expected to last 6-9 months with potential for extension.
The ideal candidate has prior benefits administration experience and strong Excel skills. They are detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with basic data analysis and reporting. This individual thrives in a team environment, takes initiative, and can quickly step in to support a variety of benefits-related projects with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day benefits administration activities
Assist with open enrollment preparation and coordination
Update and maintain enrollment forms, communications, and benefits materials
Review benefits documentation for accuracy and completeness
Manage and distribute documents through DocuSign
Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and tracking tools
Assist with benefits-related reporting and data validation
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for HR systems projects
Perform document review and quality assurance activities
Assist with special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed
Provide administrative support across the benefits function
Qualifications:
Required: 2+ years of benefits administration or benefits coordination experience
Required: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs
Required: Experience working with benefits data and reporting
Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (ADP preferred)
Required: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Required: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred: Open enrollment experience
Preferred: User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience
Preferred: Experience supporting unionized employee populations
Job Type: Contract (6-9 months, with potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA (Tuesday-Thursday onsite, Monday and Friday remote)
Hours: 40 hours per week; semi-flexible schedule during core business hours
Pay Rate: $40.00 - $48.00/hour
