    Benefits Coordination Specialist (Patient Access)

    In this role, you'll help remove barriers between patients and the therapies they need by working directly with medical insurance payers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to confirm coverage, document benefits, and flag next-step requirements like prior authorizations or appeals.     Required Skills:

    • Strong communication skills (phone and written), with professional, high-quality customer service
    • Experience making outbound calls to gather/verify information and resolve issues
    • Ability to verify and document insurance coverage and benefits accurately and thoroughly
    • Knowledge or experience in customer service, insurance, benefits, marketing, sales, or a related area
    • Comfort working toward production and time completion goals while maintaining quality standards
    • High attention to detail with strong documentation and email correspondence skills
    • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft tools and working efficiently with dual monitors
    • Analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills; adaptable and results-driven
    • Ability to work independently or in small workgroups and collaborate with internal/external partners

    Nice to Have Skills:

    • Experience in a healthcare environment with third-party benefits verification
    • Familiarity with commercial insurance concepts, including coverage policies and major medical benefits
    • Knowledge of government and patient assistance programs
    • Experience documenting prior authorization and appeals protocols

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor's degree (preferred)
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, insurance, benefits, marketing, sales, or a related area
