Description

Public Assistance Eligibility Specialist

This position is responsible for reviewing applications for various public assistance programs and determining applicant and recipient eligibility. Specialists conduct interactive interviews, gather and verify information, review applications for accuracy and completeness, and follow up with applicants as needed to obtain required documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process applications for public assistance programs
  • Conduct interviews to gather information and determine eligibility
  • Verify application information, documentation, and accuracy
  • Follow up with applicants when additional information is required
  • Explain program rules, policies, requirements, and eligibility decisions
  • Communicate with applicants, representatives, employers, medical providers, and state or federal agencies
  • Help applicants identify assistance programs that may benefit them
  • Address customer concerns and determine appropriate resolutions
  • Maintain accurate case information and documentation
  • Travel to off-site meetings, training, or conferences when required

Important Requirements:

  • Must be available to start October 5, 2026
  • Must be comfortable working onsite
  • 7 weeks of in-person training is required
  • Expedited onboarding will be necessary to meet the start date
  • Strong communication, interviewing, fact-gathering, and customer service skills are essential
  • Candidates should be comfortable handling detailed documentation and multiple follow-ups

Resources may have the opportunity to transition to a full-time/state position following the training period, based on business needs and performance
