Job Title: Benefit and Eligibility Specialists
Job Summary Review applications for public assistance programs, conduct interactive interviews, gather and verify facts, and determine eligibility for benefits such as food, medical, and cash assistance. The role involves ensuring forms are complete and accurate, following up with applicants as needed, and explaining program rules clearly.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay: $18.61
Parking: Free in lot
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85007 (On Site)
Training Location: 19th Ave & Camelback
Type: Temporary with possibility of hire!
Start date: Immediately upon passing background check
Duration: Approximately 8 weeks

Duties
- Conduct interactive interviews to collect household, financial, and personal details
- Verify application forms for completeness and accuracy
- Follow up persistently with applicants to resolve missing or unclear information
- Analyze data and documents to determine initial and ongoing eligibility
- Explain program rules, applicant rights/responsibilities, and available services
- Enter and update case information in automated systems accurately
- Manage caseloads efficiently while meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Commitment to attend 7-week, full-time, in-person training
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's or bachelor's degree in social/human services preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse individuals
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in information verification
- Proficiency in basic math and data entry
- Ability to conduct interviews and follow up effectively
- Quick learner for complex policies and procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Customer service, clerical, or public-contact experience preferred (full training provided)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in an office environment
