Compensation: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on experience

This is a part time role up to 20 hours per week. 

All work will be performed in-person at one office location, under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst and Studio Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Summary/Objective 

Drawing on prior experience and RBT certification, the Behavioral Support & Career Technician at Exceptional Minds plays a key role in fostering behavioral wellness and a supportive studio/workplace environment for Artists. The ideal candidate will observe workplace dynamics, facilitate behavioral support and skills training, and provide guidance to Artists navigating social and/or behavioral challenges. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the Director of Studio Programs, the Behavioral Support & Career Technician will collaborate closely with staff to help cultivate a positive, inclusive, and effective studio environment aligned with Exceptional Minds’ mission and values.

The Behavioral Support & Career Technician advances the Exceptional Minds mission by providing the behavioral and wellness support that allows Artists to engage fully in their career development. Through individualized support, proactive wellness programming, and cross-team collaboration, this role helps ensure EM Artists have the stability and resources needed to grow in their talent and advocate for themselves in the creative industry.

Essential Functions

• Support Artists in further developing vocational readiness skills throughout their employment at EM.
• \n
• Meet with Artists and support staff to note potential contingencies that are impacting performance or comfort (i.e., ABC data collection).
• \n
• Collect data using provided templates and transfer data to appropriate spreadsheets for graphing.
• \n
• Monitor workspaces as arranged by the Behavior Analyst/Studio Director and follow protocols for ensuring all data collection remains private and confidential.
• \n
• Provide on-call support with de-escalation when distress responses are reported.
• \n
• Assist with creating training material to share important behavioral insights with staff.
• \n
• Collaborate with the BCBA to review feedback for behavioral plans, and review modifications or accommodations in weekly/biweekly meetings.
• \n
• Abide by HIPAA and relevant BACB ethical guidelines when communicating client information orally and in writing.
• \n
• Coach Artists on self-advocacy and professionalism as they prepare to enter the digital arts industry.

• Assist Artists with documenting accomplishments and progress using established tracking tools.
• \n
• Communicate observations regarding Artist progress to the BCBA and Studio staff as appropriate.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• \n
• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB.
• \n
• Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in a related behavioral, education, or human services field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Special Education, Human Development, Social Work, Child Development, Sociology).
• \n
• Basic knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
• \n
• Experience supporting autistic adults in an educational, clinical, vocational, or community-based setting.
• \n
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• \n
• Ability to accurately collect behavioral data and maintain documentation.
• \n
• Ability to work collaboratively under the supervision of the BCBA and Studio Director.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

• \n
• Experience supporting autistic adults in employment, vocational, educational, or studio settings.
• \n
• Experience collecting behavioral data (e.g., ABC data, frequency, duration, interval recording, task analysis).
• \n
• Familiarity with graphing behavioral data and basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Slides) and/or Microsoft Excel.
• \n
• Interest in vocational readiness, workplace success, and career development for autistic adults.
• \n
• Basic familiarity with workplace accommodations and ADA compliance.
• \n
• Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed practices.
• \n
• Experience working with groups/multiple individuals simultaneously.
• \n
