Behavioral Psychotherapist - Neurology
The Department of Neurology is seeking a specialized Therapist to be embedded within the department to support patients with complex neurological conditions. This role is designed to provide integrated, patient-centered care through close collaboration with Neurologists and the interdisciplinary care team.
The primary sources of referral for this role include patients with:
- Epilepsy (epileptic and non-epileptic disorders)
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- Parkinson's Disease
- Other complex neurological disorders
These patient populations frequently experience multifaceted clinical, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges that are directly related to underlying neurological conditions.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Compensation: 42.85/hr
Responsibilities:
- Provides evidence-based diagnostic assessment and treatment for mental health and substance use disorders
- Collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Ensures care delivery meets standards for safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity
- Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements
- Participates in treatment planning, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives
Education and Experience Required:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
- One (1) year of supervised post-Master's clinical experience
OR
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
Certifications and Licensure Required:
One of the following current licenses in the State of Michigan:
- Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP)
- Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW)
