Join Our Team as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Behavioral Peer Recovery Specialist
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from Substance Use Disorder? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Peer Recovery Specialists to provide vital peer-based support within a structured, recovery-oriented environment. In this role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional training to empower residents, foster trust, and promote personal growth, all while working as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in behavioral health care.
Required Skills:
Eligibility to work in a DBHDS licensed program
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance
Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic health records
Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing techniques
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and ability to maintain professional boundaries
Organized, reliable, and capable of thorough documentation
Ability to work in a residential setting with diverse populations
Prior experience in a Level 3.1 or similar residential treatment setting is a plus
Completion of the 72-hour Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services CPRS Training Curriculum (preferred)
Certification as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech) or Medication Aide (preferred)
Must hold a valid drivers license to transport clients as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
CPRS certification
Experience with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing
Additional certifications related to behavioral health or substance use recovery
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in residential treatment or behavioral health settings highly desirable
Other Requirements:
Availability for variable shifts, including weekends and overnight rotations
Ability to work flexible hours (8a-5p, 5p-12a, 12a-8a)
1 year initial contract commitment
Willingness to transport clients to appointments and activities
Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining professional boundaries
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay rate of $21.00
