Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) | Albuquerque, NM | Full-Time | In Person

 

At Choice Recovery Path (CRP), we believe recovery happens through compassion, accountability, and meaningful support. We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our Albuquerque team and help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment.

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you'll work closely with medical providers, nurses, counselors, peer support staff, and case managers to support clients throughout their treatment journey. What You'll Do

Working alongside our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will:

  • Assist with client admissions, orientations, and discharge processes

  • Monitor client activities and behaviors to maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment

  • Obtain and document client vital signs accurately and promptly

  • Support daily clinic operations and client flow

  • Assist with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services as appropriate

  • Provide support during therapeutic groups, recreational activities, and client programming

  • Collect, process, and document urine drug screens and other approved specimens

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

  • Assist with appointment scheduling, client check-in procedures, and coordination of daily activities

  • Help maintain inventory, clinic cleanliness, and readiness of treatment areas

  • Support transportation coordination and client escorts as needed

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives

Uphold HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all applicable confidentiality requirements at all times.

The Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time | Hourly

  • Pay: Starting at $17.31/hour

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts

  • Location: Albuquerque, NM (In Person)

  • Medical Specialties: Addiction Medicine & Behavioral Health

Job requirements

What We're Looking For

Preferred Experience

  • One (1) year of experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, medical office, or substance use treatment setting

  • Experience working with individuals receiving behavioral health, substance use disorder, or Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services

  • Experience with specimen collection, urine drug screening, laboratory procedures, and EHR documentation.

Certifications

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain after hire

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and EHR systems

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
