    Job Title:

    Behavioral Health Family Specialist- Spanish Speaking Required

    Division/Program:

    Star View Teammates- High Fidelity Wraparound

    Starting Compensation:

    23.74 - 24.96 USD Per Hour

    Working Location:

    Lancaster, CA

    Working Hours/Shift:

    Mon- Fri: 8 AM - 5 PM

    What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

    Education

    • FS I: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required

    • FS II: Associates degree in a Mental Health, Human Services or closely related field

    • FS III: Bachelor's degree in a mental health, human services, or closely related field

    Experience

    • FS I: Three (3) years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families

    • FS II: Two (2) years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families

    • FC III: One (1) year experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or families

    Licensure & Certification:

    • Valid California Driver's License and maintenance of a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy

    Language Skills:

    • Spanish Speaking Required

    How you will make a difference:

    The Family Specialist builds trusting relationships with both the child/youth (Youth) and their parent/ caregiver(s) (Caregivers), while providing practical guidance and strategies that address behavioral challenges and support emotional growth. In this role, the Family Specialist also helps uncover unmet needs, teaches coping skills, and bridges gaps to repair relationships and build understanding amongst family members. The Family Specialist engages both the youth and the caregiver(s) to explore behaviors, practice new skills, and create lasting connections. The Family Specialist offers direct behavioral interventions and skill-building for the youth and caregivers. The Family Specialist is the family's primary behavioral support partner, working in coordination with the youth therapist and the Child and Family Team to support the youth and caregiver(s) in achieving their goals.

    • Programs: High Fidelity Wraparound services: Comprehensive Behavioral & Social Support Services , Crisis response, team-based approach

    • Population Served: Children, Youth, and Families battling trauma, mental illness, neglect, or substance abuse |

    • Facility & Setting: Multidisciplinary program sites serving SPA 1,2,3,4,6,7,8

    • Clinical Services: Trauma-informed care, mental health treatment, behavioral interventions , and parental skill enhancement

    • Length of Stay: Based on need, average stay is 18 months

    • Skills & Transition:

    • Strengths-based empowerment, resilience building, and long-term recovery/re-integration support

    • Family support, skill development, advocacy, and comprehensive community resources
