The Child and Family Services team is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor with extensive experience providing individual and group counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.

  • Behavioral Health Counselor III (Master's degree, Independent Level Licensure) - $71,866.00 to 97,015.00 (Annually)

Who are we?

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over 9,000 tribal members, and all people conduct business over approximately 96 square miles of residential, agricultural, and commercial lands, as a full-service government entity.

What does the job look like?

This position primarily provides in home and community-based services as part of the Circles of Support team, which delivers intensive wraparound support to children and families.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, participating in crisis intervention, and engaging in community outreach as needed.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Native children and families while working in a collaborative, mission driven environment that values cultural respect and community wellness.

What do you have?

The ideal candidate will be skilled in trauma informed, culturally responsive care and able to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support emotional wellness and family stability.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of how to work within a tribal community, including knowledge of SRPMIC culture, values, and community needs.

What do you need?

  • A Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or closely related area, AND two (2) years of direct counseling experience.
  • One (1) year of full-time supervisory experience in a major behavioral health service-related program
  • Licensures: Although Licensure is not required, it is preferred. Licensure can include:
  • Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC);
  • Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist;
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
