Behavioral Assistant

Clear Conscienve Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Assistant to join our IIC department. In this role, you will provide hands-on support to children and adolescents, helping them practice and apply the skills they are learning in therapy within their everyday environments. Job Summary

As a Behavioral Assistant, you will work directly with children or adolescents in the home, community, school, or other appropriate settings, implementing interventions designed by the clinical/treatment team. You will play a critical role in reinforcing therapeutic strategies and supporting positive behavioral outcomes, working collaboratively under the guidance of licensed clinicians and treatment coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the clinical/treatment team
  • Support children and adolescents in practicing and generalizing skills learned in therapy across home, school, and community settings
  • Document client progress, behavioral data, and session notes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with supervising clinicians, families, and other members of the treatment team to ensure consistency of care
  • Communicate observations and concerns regarding client progress to the clinical team promptly
  • Adapt intervention strategies in real time based on client responses, following established clinical guidance
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients during sessions
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as required to maintain competency and compliance with treatment protocols

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in psychology, human services, education, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents, particularly in behavioral health, education, or related support roles
  • Ability to follow structured treatment plans and clinical direction accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and clinical staff
  • Reliable transportation for travel between home, school, and community settings within New Jersey
  • Ability to pass required background checks and clearances as mandated by state regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or similar therapeutic frameworks
  • Familiarity with behavioral data collection and progress documentation methods
  • Coursework or certification related to child development, special education, or behavioral health
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, depending on client population needs

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate behavioral and progress documentation
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting purposes
  • Understanding of behavioral intervention techniques and reinforcement strategies
  • Ability to implement structured routines and follow detailed clinical instructions
  • Strong observational skills to track and report behavioral changes
