Overview:

*The ideal candidate will live in proximity to Red Oak/DeSoto area.

 

The Behavior Support Specialist provides individualized, family-centered behavioral health services to children and families in home, community, and program settings. Services may include rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training and support, parenting skills training, and Mental Health Targeted Case Management. Services are delivered in accordance with individualized treatment plans and applicable state, Medicaid, and agency requirements.

Min: USD $44,000.00/Yr. Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Maintains required QMHP qualifications, CANS and/or ANSA certification, and all training required for Mental Health Targeted Case Management as required by the Texas Administrative Code.
  • Provides individualized, trauma-informed services to clients and families in home, community, and other approved settings based on assessed needs and the individualized treatment plan.
  • Provides Mental Health Targeted Case Management through coordination, referral, linkage, monitoring, advocacy, and assistance accessing needed services and resources.
  • Provides authorized Mental Health Rehabilitative Services, including skills training and development and medication training and support, in accordance with the treatment plan, approved curricula, and program requirements.
  • Collaborates with clients, caregivers, treatment team members, and community providers to support treatment goals, continuity of care, and positive client outcomes.
  • Completes timely, accurate, and individualized documentation of services in the agency’s electronic health record in accordance with Medicaid, payor, regulatory, and agency requirements.
  • Participates in required supervision, training, team meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Responds to client safety or crisis concerns and follows established agency crisis response and escalation procedures.
  • Manages assigned caseload and schedule to ensure required services, client contacts, documentation, and treatment activities are completed within established timeframes.
  • Perform duties in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations, Texas Administrative Code, Medicaid and payor requirements, contractual standards, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintains proficiency in required electronic health record, Microsoft Office, and communication systems.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
  • Travel for conferences and summits is required. Additional travel may be required based on business needs.
Qualifications:

Must possess a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or another related human
services field and at least 1 year of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting.
Master’s Degree preferred. Frequently required to operate a motor vehicle.
