Behavior Specialist - Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) | BCBA Preferred

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current New York State license and registration as a Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA). Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification preferred.

  • Experience working with elementary-age students with intensive behavioral and/or special education needs strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in highly supportive or restrictive special education settings, including 8:1:3 programs, preferred.

  • Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

  • Experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based behavioral interventions in educational settings.

  • Experience developing and implementing crisis intervention and behavioral safety plans.

  • CPI certification and/or experience with crisis prevention and intervention preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, related service providers, families, and other school personnel to ensure consistent and accurate implementation of behavioral supports and intervention plans.

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to evaluate interventions, inform behavioral and instructional practices, and improve student outcomes.

  • Experience providing consultation, coaching, and support to school staff regarding behavioral interventions and student needs.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth, reflective practice, and continued professional learning.

  • New York State certification in School Psychology or School Social Work a plus.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This role is also a contracted position with health benefits as well as retirement benefits through ERS.
