Behavior Intervention Specialist
Reports to: Senior Direct - Behavioral Support Services
Location: 1603 Court Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057
Pay Rate: $25.48 - $28.41 Annually
Schedule: M-F: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive employee to complete functional behavior assessments and writing behavior intervention plans for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) receiving residential services so they can acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed to live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities:
Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, mental health counseling, or a related field, required; and at least one year of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans; and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans. NYS Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), or a NYS Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), preferred; licensure documentation, required.
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Responsible for recertifying and maintaining licensure. Must respect confidentiality. Must be able to perform duties with repetitive motion. Must have a moderately flexible schedule. Must be available for occasional early morning, late evening, or weekend, functions; and on-call for bona fide emergencies.
