A health services organization is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist in Niagara Falls, NY. This role focuses on behavioral assessments, support planning, staff training, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across residential and community settings.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible start and end times
- Setting: In-person
Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments using baseline, proactive, and reactive data.
- Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling to individuals served.
- Train staff on behavior support plan implementation and monitoring.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, families, and outside care providers on behavioral and mental health needs.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a clinical or treatment-related field such as psychology.
- Documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support development.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Behavior Intervention Specialist.
- At least 5 years of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to travel between multiple service locations in the area.
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in occasional on-call coverage.
Desired Skills:
- BCBA certification.
- Experience with OPWDD services.
- Familiarity with SCIP or PROMOTE training.
- Experience using PrecisionCare.
