This is a grant funded full-time non-Civil Service position with the Nashville Public Library. The Begin Bright Little Libraries Associate position provides logistical support for Begin Bright Little Libraries to provide book and resource libraries to Davidson County preschools and childcare centers. Communicates logistics with internal and external stakeholders for Library delivery and develops curriculum and related materials to support its use. Candidate will be expected to travel throughout Davidson County. Some evening and weekend hours required.

Typical Duties

  • Serves as primary point-of-contact for Little Libraries with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinates logistics of Little Library delivery to childcare centers: updates address lists, creates delivery schedule and monitors progress
  • Communicates with childcare centers throughout onboarding and implementation of Little Libraries
  • Schedules and leads orientation sessions for childcare centers
  • Develops curriculum and related materials for Libraries, including webinars, videos and other media
  • Works with NPL, NPLF and external graphic designers to design annual curriculum and print collateral updates
  • Coordinates Little Library evaluation and analyzes program data
  • Assists in the preparation of statistical and programmatic reports
  • Represents NPL at community and stakeholder meetings
  • Collaborates with program staff on new workshops and services that connect to Little Library collections
  • Assists with other Begin Bright and Bringing Books to Life programming as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university

  • Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of education

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working teachers, young children and/or families
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of videoconferencing software and Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual language skills
