Before and After School Child Care Assistant

As a Kid Zone Assistant, you’ll engage with students before and after school—leading educational and enjoyable activities while ensuring their safety and well-being. The best part? Your Role Will Include:

• Supervising and engaging with large and small groups of children in a variety of settings, including classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, computer labs, playgrounds, and on field trips.
• Supporting children with a variety of needs.
• Overseeing students during transitions, breakfast, lunch, and snack times.
• Assisting the Kid Zone Instructor with preparing and implementing the daily curriculum and activities.
• Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment by setting up, cleaning, and storing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma.
• Training or experience working with children in group and supervisory settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Basic academic competencies to provide tutorial support when needed.

Salary and Benefits:

• $18.68 – $22.46 per hour.
• Paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year. 
• Position follows the school year calendar, from September to June, with a total of 176 days + field trip days.
• Benefits are available for employees working 30 hours per week.

• Eastview Elementary, 7:00 am - 10:00 am
• John F. Kennedy Elementary, 7:00 am - 10:00 am
• John F. Kennedy Elementary, 7:00 am - 10:00 am & 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm (Split Shift)
• Lake Marion Elementary, 7:00 am - 10:00 am
• Lakeview Elementary, 7:00 am – 9:30 am & 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Split Shift)
