Position SummaryA Bath Aide is responsible for assisting residents or patients with bathing, hygiene, and personal care needs. This role helps maintain residents' dignity, comfort, and overall health by ensuring proper hygiene and monitoring skin integrity.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist residents with bathing (bed bath, shower, tub, or whirlpool) while maintaining privacy and dignityProvide personal hygiene care including grooming, oral care, hair care, and skin careObserve and report changes in skin condition or overall health to nursing staffAssist residents with dressing and undressingHelp with mobility, transfers, positioning, and transportation to bathing areasMaintain a clean, safe, and organized bathing environmentFollow infection control, safety, and HIPAA policiesDocument care provided and communicate resident needs or concerns to nursing staffAdditional Support DutiesAssist with meals or hydration is expected with all mealsChange linens and maintain resident roomsAssist with toileting and elimination needs is requiredSupport residents' independence and emotional well-beingQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred)CNA certification often required (varies by facility/state)CPR certification may be requiredAbility to safely lift, move, and assist residentsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsSkills & CompetenciesCompassion and patienceAttention to detailKnowledge of infection control and safety practicesAbility to maintain resident dignity and confidentialityTeamwork with nursing staffWork EnvironmentTypically works in long-term care, hospital, or assisted living settings.
