About the Role

This role is crucial for overseeing furnace and batch house operations, ensuring environmental controls and maintenance are upheld. The position exists to manage labor, equipment, and budgets effectively, contributing significantly to the production of high-quality glass containers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production and Quality Managers to enhance glass container production quality and efficiency.
• Supervise salaried and hourly personnel in all phases of batch and furnace operations.
• Manage incoming raw materials and glass formulas.
• Plan and coordinate all preventive maintenance activities.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in glass furnace operations and large-scale glass melting operations.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science, or related Engineering field.
• Experience supervising employees, planning work schedules, and directing assignments.
