BAS Field Engineer

Job SummaryAir Systems is seeking an experienced BAS Field Programmer/Engineer with expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to create Controls Programs and Systems Databases in San Jose, CA. The role involves working with clients to develop a database of control programs, programming, and installing control systems for their buildings. This position requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a focus on client satisfaction.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain clear and professional communication with co‑workers and clients.Build and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.Provide control drawings to the engineering and drafting group.Integrate systems to on‑board micro‑processors.Consistently test and ensure the quality of control programs and testing documentation.Work with the Installation Team to cross‑check and document correct installation of wiring and control devices.Identify and resolve project‑related issues to ensure smooth execution.Follow and uphold established Air Systems Management procedures.QualificationsMechanical Engineering Degree preferred.5+ years of controls experience.Ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics.Knowledge of HVAC control systems required.Knowledge of electrical schematics required.Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.Strong knowledge of MS Office, Windows XP, file structure, basic TCP/IP network structure, and web navigation.Knowledge of Visio a plus but not required.Knowledge of ALC Controls, Distech Controls, Niagara certification, and/or other DDC controls.Clean driving record required.Able to lift 30 lbs.Ability to multitask, problem‑solve, and work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.Creative and proactive, utilizing resources to meet project goals efficiently.BenefitsComprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision, prescription).Telehealth access and HSA/FSA options.Employer‑paid Life, Accident, and Disability Insurance: 1.5 times your salary.Generous paid time off, with increases each year + 10 paid holidays.On‑site employee gym and EV plugs and/or bike commuter benefits.Opportunities for professional growth through educational assistance and career development programs.A flexible work environment and culture that prioritizes team collaboration, work‑life balance, and personal well‑being.Competitive Salary$90,000 - $130,000 per year based on experience.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
