    BAS Controls Software Engineer – Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 Days Remote / 2 Days Onsite)

    About the Opportunity:

    A Tier-1 Building Technology firm is seeking a skilled BAS Controls Software Engineer to support enterprise-level Building Automation applications across the Chicago metro region. This role centers on high-level software development, integrations, and database engineering within modern BAS environments. The position follows a hybrid schedule—three days remote and two in the Chicago office (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

    Position Details:

    • Title: BAS Controls Software Engineer
    • Location: Hybrid – Chicago, IL metro (must live within 2 hours)
    • Schedule: 3 Days Remote / 2 Days In-Office
    • Status: Full-Time

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop BAS applications, custom software logic, and scripting
    • Build and upload automation system databases
    • Rewrite, optimize, and implement Sequences of Operation
    • Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot automation controllers
    • Provide remote diagnostics and support through VPN access
    • Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, LON, and TCP/IP
    • Create alarms, trends, graphics, and user interface elements
    • Work within scripting or function block programming environments

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Experience developing or programming BAS software applications
    • Strong understanding of database architecture and remote diagnostics
    • Hands-on experience with protocol integrations and field device communication
    • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while contributing to a collaborative team
