Job Description
Ridgewood Country Club is seeking an experienced, professional, and service-oriented Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will provide members and guests with an exceptional hospitality experience by delivering attentive, friendly, and efficient beverage service.
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, taking orders, making knowledgeable beverage recommendations, and maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar. This position plays an important role in creating the welcoming and professional atmosphere expected at Ridgewood Country Club.
Successful candidates should have strong beverage knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to outstanding member and guest service.
Main Responsibilities
- Greet Ridgewood Country Club members and guests in a warm, professional, and courteous manner.
- Take beverage and food orders accurately and provide prompt, attentive service.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and Club standards.
- Mix and serve classic cocktails, specialty drinks, and other beverages with consistency and proper presentation.
- Recommend beverages based on members' and guests' preferences, menu selections, and requests.
- Provide knowledgeable information about available wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Create an exceptional member and guest experience through friendly, professional, and personalized service.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and visually appealing bar area throughout each shift.
- Ensure the bar is properly stocked with beverages, garnishes, glassware, supplies, and other necessary items.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Follow proper opening and closing procedures for the bar.
- Accurately process guest checks and payments using the Club's point-of-sale system.
- Follow all Ridgewood Country Club policies, procedures, service standards, and safety requirements.
- Verify identification when required and comply with all applicable laws regarding the responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
- Work collaboratively with servers, culinary staff, management, and other team members to ensure efficient and seamless service.
- Assist with Club events, banquets, tournaments, member functions, and special occasions as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, cocktails, and beverage preparation.
- Ability to accurately prepare both classic and specialty cocktails.
- Bartending certification or responsible alcohol service certification is a plus.
- Basic computer, point-of-sale, and math skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a hospitality-focused environment.
- Professional, friendly, and positive demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional member and guest service.
- Ability to maintain a clean, stocked, and well-organized work environment.

- Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, Club events, and special functions as required.
