    We are assisting an exciting new upscale-casual restaurant opening soon in Norfolk, Virginia, with building its opening team. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and hospitality-driven professionals who are ready to deliver exceptional guest experiences and help establish a strong culture from day one.

    The ideal candidate combines strong beverage knowledge with genuine hospitality. You should be comfortable creating quality drinks, serving guests at the bar, supporting the dining room, and maintaining speed and accuracy during high-volume shifts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages according to established recipes

    • Welcome bar guests and provide attentive, knowledgeable service

    • Explain beverage selections and make thoughtful recommendations

    • Accurately enter orders and process payments

    • Prepare service-bar orders efficiently for dining-room guests

    • Monitor alcohol consumption and follow responsible-service requirements

    • Verify identification and comply with all applicable alcohol laws

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar

    • Complete inventory, restocking, opening, and closing duties

    • Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff

    • Follow sanitation and food-safety procedures

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Food handler certification is required

    • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment is required

    • Experienced knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, and wine

    • Strong customer-service and communication skills

    • Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality

    • Accurate point-of-sale skills as our restaurant is cashless

    • Professional judgment when serving alcohol

    • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

    • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

    • Alcohol-service certification preferred or willingness to obtain any required certification
