Bartenders and Servers are the same position here. You will be responsible for making your guests cocktails, pouring beer and taking food orders. Lexington’s craft beer culture and being surrounded by bourbon country has made it a go-to location for experiencing the best beer and bourbons in the country. Our bartenders should consider themselves a guide for our food, bourbon, cocktail and beer menus.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests at the bar or tables
- Always maintain a calm and courteous manner with guests and employees
- Communicate regularly with guests and respond promptly
- Know all available food and bar items including main ingredients
- Know current specials and promotions
- Build craft cocktails per the recipe provided
- Knowledge of basic cocktails and how to build them
- Knowledge of craft beers available and ability to describe and classify them
- Knowledge of bourbon and other liquors and ability to describe and sell to guests
- Ensure cleanliness of barware including tools and glassware
- Open and Close bar area
- Prep bar ingredients and garnish
- Change kegs
- Stock and rotate inventory
- Bus, Clean and Sanitize Tables and Bar
Qualifications:
- Current food handlers’ certificate
- Current alcohol safety training
- Ability to carry at least 30 pounds and lift 15 pounds overhead
- Ability to climb a step stool / ladder
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to react quickly to peak service times
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to go up and down flights of stairs throughout the shift
- Must be a minimum of 20 years old to sell and distribute alcohol in Kentucky
- Ability to multitask and organize
- Ability to reach, bend, squat and lift while on the shift
