Pay: $19.00 per hour + tips (Non-Exempt)

About the Role
Embassy Suites La Jolla is seeking an outgoing, service-focused Part-Time Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Required Availability: Applicants must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Open availability is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
- Welcome guests with a friendly, professional attitude and create a positive bar experience.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Engage with guests, answer questions, and provide menu recommendations.
- Accurately process food and beverage orders, payments, and guest transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout each shift.
- Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service guidelines and all applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with restaurant and hotel team members to provide seamless guest service.
- Assist with inventory control, restocking, and bar opening and closing duties.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous bartending experience required; hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktail preparation, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Strong guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess or be able to obtain all required California food handling and alcohol service certifications.
- Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
