Job Overview:
The Bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages in a safe, friendly, and professional manner while ensuring an enjoyable experience for our residents and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming and social atmosphere. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar area, following all safety and sanitation guidelines, and adhering to community policies regarding alcohol service.

    Responsibilities:
    • Inspect the bar prior to opening and closing to ensure adequate supplies are available.
    • Maintains clean bar area equipment.
    • Maintains records and inventory of liquors, beer and wine.
    • Prepare garnishes, mixers and pre-mixes.
    • Work closely with Hospitality Manager and Director of Hospitality.
    • Works cooperatively with other servers and assist with meal service, including waiting tables and running food.
    • Receives deliveries in accordance with purchase orders.
    • Assist in daily cleanup of bar.
    • Always be in uniform during your shift.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Hospitality Manager or Director.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all team members provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Take the initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority.
    • Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents’ families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors and regulators).
    • Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
    • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly while recognizing that the community is the residents’ home.
    • Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
    • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly while recognizing that the community is the residents’ home.
    • Must be able to relate and work with the ill, disable, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the community.
    • Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Must be 21 years of age.
    • Must pass a criminal background check.
    • Must be able to meet all health requirements.
    • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • At least six (6) months’ prior experience in hotels, restaurants, country clubs or banquet facilities are preferred.
    • Supervisory experience is desirable.
    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
    • Schedule hours; possible overtime. May work in other positions temporarily when necessary.
    • Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post disaster, etc.).
    • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
    • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
    • Including but not limited to sitting/standing in place for short/long periods at a time, repetitive use of hands, fingers, wrists, arms, frequent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling/lifting 25+lbs. High people interaction, bright and low lighting, loud noises, fluctuating temperatures, exposure to odors communicable illness/disease and other related infectious contagions found in a healthcare/residential setting.
