Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.
We are currently seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Barista to join our café team. This role is essential in delivering outstanding service, preparing quality beverages, and ensuring a smooth café experience for every guest. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and loves interacting with people.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other café beverages according to recipes and quality standards
- Greet customers, take café orders, and process payments accurately
- Deliver completed orders to customers in the café dining area
- Assemble, pack, and hand off online and take-out orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar and service area
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Monitor inventory of café supplies and notify management when items run low
- Support team members during busy periods and help maintain efficient workflow
- Provide friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service
Work Schedule: Wed - Sun: 3:30 pm - 12:30 am
Pay & Compensation: $18 per hour + tips
Benefits:
- 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked
- $2 extra per hour worked on Sundays
- 1 week paid vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of barista or food service experience required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash/card payments
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills
- Availability to work weekends and evening shifts
