Job Summary:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving specialty coffee beverages and food items to employees and visitors while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple orders efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including coffee, blended coffee drinks, and tea
Customize beverage orders according to customer requests
Describe product offerings and assist customers with selections
Receive and process customer payments
Serve prepared foods and baked goods including muffins, bagels, and similar items
Ensure customer service stations are stocked with paper products and beverage preparation items
Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas
Maintain cleanliness of service counters and seating areas
Monitor freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment by routinely checking temperatures
Stock supplies and retail products and assist with inventory or ordering as directed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of barista experience
Experience following safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced customer service environment
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience working in café, food service, or hospitality environments
Experience managing multiple beverage orders simultaneously
Familiarity with café equipment and beverage preparation techniques
