Description

Job Summary:

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing outstanding food and beverage service to guests during banquet events, meetings, weddings, and conferences. This role ensures proper setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions while delivering a high standard of Hilton hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup:
    • Assist with setting up tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, and decorations according to event specifications or Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
    • Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and properly staged before guest arrival.
  • Service Duties:
    • Greet guests in a warm, friendly manner.
    • Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally, following proper portion control and presentation standards.
    • Remain attentive to guest needs throughout the event, refilling drinks, clearing plates, and responding to requests promptly.
    • Maintain knowledge of event menus and beverage offerings to accurately answer guest questions.
    • Communicate guest feedback or issues to the Banquet Captain or Manager promptly.
  • Event Breakdown:
    • Clear tables and remove items post-event in a clean and organized manner.
    • Assist in breaking down equipment, storing supplies, and resetting rooms for upcoming events.
  • Cleanliness & Safety:
    • Follow all safety and sanitation standards, including Hilton brand guidelines.
    • Maintain cleanliness of banquet areas before, during, and after events.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the kitchen, event planning, and management teams to ensure seamless event execution.
    • Participate in team meetings, briefings, and training as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous banquet or restaurant serving experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in service style.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $18/hr + tips

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: 

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
