Job Description What you will be doing:
- Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11, and related bankruptcy proceedings.
- Handle adversary proceedings and contested matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other bankruptcy court filings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare litigation strategy memoranda.
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and bankruptcy court proceedings.
- Manage discovery and all phases of litigation.
- Communicate directly with clients, trustees, opposing counsel, and the Court.
- Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys on complex commercial litigation matters.
Experience you will need:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Georgia Bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of bankruptcy litigation experience on the creditor side.
- Demonstrated courtroom and adversary proceeding experience.
- Familiarity with the Northern District of Georgia Bankruptcy Court strongly preferred.
- Sharp written and oral advocacy — you can argue a motion and write a brief.
- Ability to manage a complex docket with minimal handholding.
