Job Summary: You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of delinquent accounts, with a heavy emphasis on specialized legal processes including Bankruptcies (Chapters 7 and 13), Foreclosures/Repossessions, and Post-Recovery Liquidations. The ideal candidate combines assertive negotiation skills with deep technical knowledge of automotive, mortgage, and consumer regulations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Specialized Portfolio Management: Oversee the daily operations of high-risk accounts, specifically those in active bankruptcy or pending foreclosure.
- Bankruptcy Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact for external attorneys and trustees. Manage the filing of Proofs of Claim (POC), Reaffirmation Agreements, and Motions for Relief from Stay.
- Repossession & Logistics: Initiate and manage the repossession process when authorized. Coordinate with third-party skip-tracers and recovery agents while maintaining strict adherence to state and federal "peaceful repossession" laws.
- Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all collection activities strictly comply with the FDCPA, TCPA, and CFPB guidelines to minimize organizational risk.
- Auction & Disposal: Manage the transport and sale of recovered collateral at auto auctions to ensure maximum recovery on "charge-off" or "salvage stage" accounts.
- Team Leadership: Train and mentor a team of collectors on effective negotiation tactics and legal disclosure requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly delinquency and loss-prevention reports for senior leadership, identifying trends in the portfolio.
