    The Opportunity

    As a dedicated Bank Business Process Consultant Lead, you will leverage expert knowledge of bank processes and products to serve as a trusted advisor to internal business partners. Your consultation services will span end-to-end knowledge of the template creation process for operational communications and existing production monitoring and reporting capabilities within the Bank. You will be responsible for the centralized risk management of all risk activities pertaining to Bank Operational Communications. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of risk and regulatory compliance, ensuring that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures. You will lead the development of a new communication governance framework for the Bank operational communications. This will require cross-departmental coordination to eliminate redundant or duplicate processes and messaging that ensure all communications are strategically aligned with the Bank’s standards and regulatory requirements and maximizing member experience. Additionally, you will provide project management coordination for various initiatives and execute, oversee, and monitor the development of business process-related communication solutions for our members. You will drive operational efficiency by evaluating and improving processes, identifying opportunities, and running existing BOC controls, while also collaborating with stakeholders to define project scopes, ensure process documentation, and monitor implementation against performance benchmarks.

    We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel if the individual does not reside within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

    What you'll do:

    • Identify and implement strategic opportunities and solutions for key stakeholders. Develop business process enhancements for the Bank that aligns business deliverables, bank strategy and risk management framework. Ensure alignment with customer and appropriate bank roadmap(s) and strategy.
    • Coach others and leads acquisition and application of expert knowledge of the business.
    • Lead planning & execution and direct and coordinates activities for highly complex projects.
    • Apply a holistic understanding of risk and regulatory compliance to include business strategies and solutions.
    • Manage risks by using established methodologies and exercising control plans to ensure alignment with Function or Line of Business specific requirements, process requirements, and business needs.
    • Provides consultation to influence and ensure Function and/or Line of Business processes address risk across all activities.
    • Review, advise, and develop communication plans for customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure alignment between internal stakeholders and customers across all business process projects and services using proactive communication and engagement strategies.
    • Utilize data and analytics to deliver insight into customer and business process performance, identifying opportunities to influence customer and business process activities and inform key stakeholders.
    • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

    What you have:

    • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
    • 8 years of experience in business process consultation, process design, developing business processes, procedures, measures, and metrics.
    • Expert knowledge of bank products and processes.
    • Experience leading programs/projects, business process owner/consultant or working in an agile environment.
    • Extensive experience in applying quality management, process improvement, and leveraging process improvement tools and methodologies.
    • Experience applying retail bank subject matter expertise to simplify the customer experience, standardize process execution, and automate where possible.
    • Expert experience/ knowledge of Risk Management frameworks and Banking Regulatory requirements.
    • Demonstrated experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business processes.

    Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.

    Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

     

    Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
