TITLE: Secondary Band Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional licensure and a employee of the Harrison County Board of Education
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools
SALARY: Per Harrison County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Schedule and conduct all rehearsals.
- Audition, teach and train participants for All-State and Sole-Ensemble Festival
- Perform publicly outside of home-school environment.
- Provide instrumental music for graduation ceremonies if such ceremonies are conducted and required.
- Maintain records, reports and inventories as may be required and submit required information by designated time.
- Accept advice and suggestions in a constructive manner.
- Attend music in-services, workshops, conferences and meetings outside of school time, during the academic year as required to meet obligations.
- Perform at traditional school musical functions as required by the principal.
- Coordinate all activities with the school principal.
- Observes all rules and regulations of the SSAC and observes all county policies.
- Exercise due caution as to safety of students.
- Maintain good public relations with parent and community groups.
- Participate in invitational parades and festivals.
- Participate and assumes a fair share of responsibility for implementing All-County Band Festival.
- May attend state music conferences (WVMEA) (Saturday only).
