Job Description
The Bakery Manager is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Bakery Supervisor and Store Manager for the successful operation of the Bakery Department. It is essential that as the Bakery Manager, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.
Responsibilities
- Competent and working knowledge of all Essential Functions for all Bakery department positions
- Oversee scratch baking, proofing, decorating, packaging, and display case stocking
- Train, advise, and build weekly schedules for bakery associates
- Maintain and oversee supplies, inventory and shrink
- Maintain accurate procedures in regard to invoices, transfers inventories and ordering
- Responsible for ordering sufficient quantities of raw materials for production while maintaining proper retail pricing
- Responsible for the product quality and freshness and proper rotation
- Responsible for directing seasonal items, sale items and demand items are properly displayed
- Responsible for maintaining a sanitary department in the customer area, cases/coolers and back room areas
- Responsible for maintaining freezer and stocking including products as required
- Responsible for completing and submitting of shrink reports
- Competent knowledge and application of food preparations and procedures
- Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
- Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere and enforce the Dress Code policy
- Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
- Will comply with and enforce all policies contained within the Employee Handbook
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of Management Experience.
- 2-3 years of Bakery Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to regularly move and/or lift 50lbs.
- While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, and utilize full hand and digit functions, reach with hands and arms while manipulating objects
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
- Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
