Clemens Food Group is seeking a Production Supervisor – Bacon Slicing 2nd Shift for Retail to lead daily operations within our retail bacon slicing department. This role is responsible for providing hands-on leadership to hourly production team members and line leads while ensuring the shift delivers against expectations for safety, food safety, quality, production, labor, yield, and team performance.

This is a floor-based leadership role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The supervisor is expected to be highly visible on the production floor, set clear expectations, communicate effectively, hold team members accountable, and respond with urgency to issues that impact safety, quality, service, cost, or productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 2nd shift bacon slicing operations to meet daily production schedules and performance targets.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, training, and support to hourly team members and line leads.
  • Reinforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, GMPs, sanitation expectations, and company policies.
  • Ensure product is produced in compliance with company, customer, regulatory, food safety, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor line performance, staffing, labor efficiency, downtime, product quality, rework, waste, giveaway, and yield.
  • Support shift startup, line readiness, changeovers, production documentation, and end-of-shift handoff.
  • Partner with FSQA, Maintenance, Sanitation, Warehouse, Scheduling, HR, and Operations to resolve issues and remove barriers.
  • Make real-time decisions to adjust staffing, workflow, priorities, and escalation needs.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, conduct, and performance.
  • Identify root causes of production misses, quality defects, downtime, waste, or repeat issues.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that improve consistency, efficiency, team capability, and operating performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, production, food, beverage, meat processing, packaging, or CPG required.
  • Experience leading hourly production teams required.
  • Strong floor presence, communication, coaching, accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety expectations, sanitation practices, and production documentation.
  • Ability to use production data to understand performance, identify issues, and take corrective action.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift and support overtime, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in bacon, sliced meats, ready-to-eat meats, meat processing, food packaging, or high-speed food manufacturing.
  • Experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, lean manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience using production reporting, labor management, ERP, or manufacturing systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
