    Description


    A leading financial services organization is seeking a Back Office Automation Engineer to support a Fixed Income Capital Markets technology environment. This position combines hands-on Python programming, QA automation, and deep understanding of post-trade Fixed Income and derivatives workflows.

    You will develop and expand automated testing capabilities for complex trading and post-trade systems, working closely with development teams to validate new functionality, data flows, APIs, and trade lifecycle processes. This is a programming-heavy QA role suited for an engineer who can combine strong automation skills with meaningful derivatives knowledge.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scenarios using Python or Java.
    • Expand automation frameworks supporting Fixed Income and derivatives applications.
    • Validate post-trade workflows, data lineage, and integration between internal and external applications.
    • Develop complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
    • Partner with development teams to review stories, requirements, and automation estimates.
    • Perform impact assessments for new features and application changes.
    • Maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and automation scripts.
    • Support code reviews and continued integration of automated testing into CI/CD processes.

    Role Requirements:
    • 5 7+ years of application development, SDET, or automation framework development experience.
    • Strong hands-on Python programming skills.
    • Strong SQL skills, including complex query development.
    • Experience developing or expanding test automation frameworks.
    • Fixed Income Capital Markets experience.
    • Hands-on experience testing post-trade derivatives workflows.
    • Working knowledge of swaps and their trade lifecycle.
    • Experience with backend, API, integration, and data-focused testing.
    • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.
    • Ability to understand complex data and application flows.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
    • Experience with interest rate swaps, OIS, inflation swaps, swaptions, CDS, repos, TRS, futures, or options.
    • Regulatory testing experience within capital markets.
    • CI/CD and automated testing pipeline experience.
    • Experience supporting trading technology modernization initiatives.
    • Experience within hedge funds or other sophisticated capital markets environments.
