We are NOT in the Ohio Capitol building. We are located immediately south of the Riffe Center.

We are a separate, private entity.

 


Starting Pay: Hourly

Sous Chef: $19.00 – $22.00

Culinary graduates: $16.00 – $17.00

Cook: $15.00 – $17.00

General BOH: $13.00 – $17.00

Featuring eco-focused and heritage recipes developed from partnerships with local cultural experts, we bring dishes to the table that are both familiar and new. You’ll find comforting favorites from all over Ohio, like Jojo’s and Goetta, plus seasonal features like pawpaw, dandelion, and spicebush.

Qualifications & Experience

We have several positions available on our Back of House team. Please see the details for each below.

 

Sous Chef: $19.00 – $22.00

  • Previous management experience.
  • Must have flexible availability.
  • 4+ years of professional kitchen experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a fine dining or upscale scratch-kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to complete a 1-hour working interview.
  • The Sous Chef working interview pays $25.00, with a check issued at the end of the interview.
  • You will need to demonstrate the criteria listed below, “what we are looking for”.
  • Your dish should showcase our restaurant's concept and your skill set.
  • Must attend interview in working attire: Black chef coat, kitchen pants, non-slip closed-toed shoes.

Culinary Graduates: $16.00 – $17.00

  • Culinary certification/degree.
  • Set schedule.
  • Non-working in-person interview.
  • Please attend the interview in pants, a t-shirt, and non-slip footwear.

Cooks: $15.00 – $17.00

  • 2+ years in fast-paced kitchen environments.
  • Set schedule.
  • Non-working in-person interview.
  • Please attend the interview in pants, a t-shirt, and non-slip footwear.

General BOH: $13.00 – $17.00

  • 1+ years in fast paced kitchen environments.
  • Set schedule.

What are we looking for in BOH team members?

  • Station Execution: Run your station smoothly during service, hitting precise ticket times and plate presentation standards.
  • Prep Mastery: Complete detailed daily prep lists accurately and efficiently, rotating stock and tracking par levels.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all raw and finished products for quality, proper seasoning, and correct holding temperatures.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Uphold local health department guidelines and maintain immaculate station cleanliness before, during, and after service.
  • Communication: Call back orders clearly, coordinate timing smoothly with other stations and the pass, and report shortages directly to the person(s) in charge.
  • Stamina: Remaining active and on your feet throughout peak-service shifts.
  • Lifting & Bending: Safely moving bulk food stock, boxes, or equipment.
  • Agility: Reaching high shelves, bending for low storage, and moving quickly.
  • Adaptive: Using resources and creating systems in safe and thoughtful ways.
  • Creative: Bringing new ideas to the team, contributing to meaningful conversations.
  • Emotional: Showing compassion and empathy to fellow employees and guests. The ability to communicate your own needs and recognize others' needs is standard practice. The ability to accept and offer advice in meaningful and professional ways. Allowing any judgment you might have of others and their personal and private lives to remain private thoughts.

  • Current food safety certification status for Ohio.
  • Professional resume.
  • US current identification, green card, and/or other work permits, allowing the employee to verify their citizenship.
  • Secondary form of identification, birth certificate, or SS card.
  • Proof of address via a current utility bill.
  • 3 professional references for contact.
  • Valid, current phone number and best calling hours.
  • An outlook of your availability and requested or needed days off for the next two months.
  • Any necessary tax information to complete an I-9 or W-4 form.
