Epitec is seeking a Back-End Software Development Engineering Senior Engineer to support the development of cloud-native applications, AI-enabled solutions, and enterprise platforms for a leading automotive organization in Dearborn, MI. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on senior engineer with deep experience in GCP, backend development, DevOps, and emerging AI technologies to help build the foundation of a growing engineering team.

Job Details

Location: Dearborn, MI

Schedule: 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote

Long-Term W2 Contract (Approx. 12 Months)

Security Check Required

Pay Range: $48-$53/hr

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support cloud-native applications and backend services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Build scalable APIs, integrations, and enterprise platforms supporting engineering and business operations
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and containerized deployments
• Implement AI-enabled solutions utilizing technologies such as RAG, MCP, agentic workflows, ADK, and A2A architectures
• Integrate applications with enterprise data sources, workflow systems, and AI services
• Contribute to solution architecture, platform engineering standards, and technical best practices
• Analyze data and develop solutions leveraging BigQuery and cloud-based analytics tools
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and external vendors across multiple initiatives
• Support application monitoring, telemetry, evaluation frameworks, and platform optimization efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of software development experience preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Cloud Run and BigQuery
• Proficiency with Python, Java, GitHub, and modern backend development practices
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architectures
• Knowledge of solution architecture, enterprise integrations, and scalable API development
• Experience with AI technologies such as RAG, MCP, ADK, A2A, prompt management, or agentic workflows preferred
• Exposure to Angular and UI/UX concepts is a plus
• Automotive or Ford experience preferred
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI technologies including RAG, MCP, ADK, A2A, prompt management, and agentic workflows
• Experience developing AI-enabled applications and intelligent workflow automation solutions
• Exposure to Angular and UI/UX design principles
• Experience with Kubernetes and large-scale cloud platforms
• Automotive industry experience
• Ford experience
• Experience working with enterprise knowledge sources, workflow platforms, and external vendors
