Job Summary

The Office of Admissions is hiring BA+BFA Admissions Ambassadors to host Prospective BA+BFA students overnight in PRAX house!

BA+BFA Ambassadors are required to host prospective students in their dorms during overnight programs the nights of Tuesday September 22 and Tuesday October 27.

There may also be opportunities to appear on panels, help visitors find their way across campus, and connect with prospective students virtually.

The position pays $28/prospective student hosted overnight, and $14/hour for other work. This position is for BA+BFA students only. We would like to fill the positions with students living in PRAX house, however you may be considered if you live in on-campus housing or OSCA. (You will also be considered for our general Ambassador program.)

Responsibilities

Host students in on-campus housing the nights of Tuesday September 22 and Tuesday October 27. Hosting is a mandatory requirement for this job.

  • Compensation is $28 per prospective student assigned per night

Other shift opportunities:

  • Represent Oberlin students on panels and at on-campus events during programs like All Roads Lead to Oberlin
  • Opportunities to participate in student events for prospective students
  • Outreach to applicants and prospective students virtually
  • Opportunities for more on-campus student interactions may include lunch visits to dining halls and accompanying students to class visits or campus events

Qualifications

You must be a BA+BFA student to apply for this position. Priority given to students living in PRAX house, but must live in campus or OSCA housing.

All students are eligible to apply regardless of year (first-years are encouraged to apply).

Desired Qualifications: Experience with a variety of Oberlin programs and/or student organizations.

Any student employee will be required to complete new hire paperwork to the Student Employment Office. Please note that new hire paperwork should not be submitted until you have been offered and have accepted a student employment position. IMPORTANT: A student worker cannot work until all forms have been submitted and the student position has been finalized.

  • I-9 Employee Eligibility Verification Form - All documents must be original - NO PHOTOCOPIES. Please make sure to have your required documents on campus.

Conduct and Title IX Check Consent

Admission Ambassador applicants must give consent for the Admissions Office to request an Oberlin College Conduct Check in order to be hired as an Admissions Ambassador. Conduct checks are confidential.
