About Chesdin Automotive & Collision

Chesdin Automotive & Collision is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join its North Dinwiddie, VA team.

Serving the area since 2006, the shop is growing and looking for a technician who already has a solid mechanical foundation, can handle most general repairs independently, and is comfortable with automotive diagnostics.

This is a production-focused opportunity where quality and turned hours matter. For a technician who wants to keep progressing, there is also room to strengthen diagnostic skills and develop toward more advanced A-Level work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose automotive mechanical concerns
  • Perform maintenance and general automotive repairs
  • Complete assigned repairs independently
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship
  • Maintain consistent billed and turned hours
  • Collaborate with technicians and Service Advisors
  • Support shop production goals and workflow

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional automotive technician experience
  • B-Level or strong C-Level automotive repair skill set
  • Strong general automotive mechanical repair skills
  • Automotive diagnostic ability
  • Ability to complete most repairs independently without heavy supervision
  • Ability to maintain consistent productivity and repair quality
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24.50/hour base pay
  • $53,400–$77,000 annual earning range
  • 30 billed hours: additional $2.50/hour production incentive
  • 35 billed hours: additional $5.00/hour production incentive
  • 40 billed hours: additional $8.00/hour production incentive
  • Effective rate equivalent can reach $32.50/hour based on production

New hires complete a 90-day performance evaluation focused on repair quality, consistency, production, and shop standards. Compensation and production scaling are finalized following the evaluation.
