JOB SUMMARY

The Building and Bridges Mechanic performs a variety of tasks including carpentry, masonry, and steel work.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Repair and construct a variety of structures.
• Mix concrete, mortar, pour and finish concrete.
• Install temporary supports and scaffolding.
• Rig steel for installation or removal.
• Perform light running repairs to assigned vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles daily for safety and damage.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates must be able to:

• Demonstrate carpentry, steel, and masonry ability.
• Work effectively under pressure and in all weather conditions.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate well with others at all levels.
• Understand and know standard construction policies.
• Have mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Successfully pass background, drug screening and physical.
• Provide a valid Drivers License and clean driving history.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED.

• Various.
• This is a unionized position.

Rate of pay:

The pay rates are tiered and are non-negotiable. The current hourly pay rate is $34.68.
