Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
DevOps Strategy & CI/CD
- Lead CI/CD best practices (CI, CD, automated testing, TDD) and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, deployments, and incident response.
- Manage and scale enterprise GitOps delivery pipelines and cloud-native infrastructure exclusively across Microsoft Azure for engineering platforms.
- GitHub Actions: Build modular CI workflows integrated with Azure Container Registry (ACR), Azure-hosted runners, and automated DevSecOps security gates.
- ArgoCD on AKS: Orchestrate continuous delivery, drift reconciliation, and progressive rollouts across multi-cluster Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments using Helm and Kustomize.
- Infrastructure as Code: Automate and secure Azure infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep, enforcing governance via Azure Key Vault, Entra ID Workload Identity, and Azure Monitor.
- Design and maintain resilient, scalable, secure infrastructure supporting telecom-grade availability.
- Build end-to-end deployment pipelines (GitHub, GitHub Actions, MSSQL) with automated promotion across Dev/Staging/Production.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) and enforce pipeline governance, security scanning, and dependency checks.
Automation & Release Engineering
- Install and maintain Windows Server-based GitHub Actions self-hosted runners (99.9% uptime).
- Develop production-grade PowerShell scripts for deployment, backup, rollback, health checks, and validation, with robust error handling and auditing.
- Integrate GitHub with Jira for automated ticket lifecycle management and deployment tracking.
Cloud, Monitoring & Observability
- Design cloud-native solutions using Azure, AWS to support database deployment automation and cost optimization.
- Implement monitoring/observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Zabbix, and Dynatrace; define SLAs/SLOs/SLIs.
- Configure Slack/PagerDuty alerting, participate in on-call rotations, and lead post-incident reviews (RCA).
Security, DR & Operational Excellence
- Implement security best practices (branch protection, GitHub Secrets, GPG-signed commits, RBAC) and maintain audit compliance.
- Design automated backup/rollback strategies (RTO <15 min, RPO <5 min, 30-day retention) and conduct regular DR drills.
- Optimize deployments (30 min → <5 min), improve storage efficiency, maintain documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, SRE, or Platform Engineering, DevOps/SRE experience with deep, production-level expertise in Azure, AKS, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
- Proven expertise building enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Groovy)
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions, Windows Server, MSSQL, Azure, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Solid knowledge of monitoring/observability/logging platforms
- Experience integrating DevOps tools with Jira, Slack, and PagerDuty
- Understanding of database deployment automation and release management
- Experience supporting high-availability production environments
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
